Myx TV GM Miguel Santos Named Anew Among Most Influential Minorities in Cable, to speak at MU:CON 2016 in Seoul


CableFax, a leading U.S. company that serves the cable community with a variety of services that help industry professionals stay abreast of the complex dynamics facing cable executives as well as opportunities, recently announced through its CableFax Magazine its list of the 2016 Most Influential Minorities in Cable.  For the second time in a row, Miguel Santos, general manager of Asian American entertainment network Myx TV, was included in the list.

Santos was praised for continuing “to create paths for minorities in cable at Myx not only through the network’s programming and executive roster, but by speaking out on vital diversity issues.”

Santos was also invited to speak at MU:CON Seoul 2016 – the annual Seoul International Music Fair which aims to expand and develop Korean music abroad and facilitate exchange between music industry professionals and vitalize business through information-sharing.  It is a music market consisting of the Biz-matching program, the conference, the global music showcase, as well as other networking programs geared towards stimulating artists’ global expansion in the music business.

Santos will speak on October 7 and focus on exporting Asian music, the evolution and globalization of K-Pop, and how media companies are helping promote this genre and cultural phenomenon abroad.  Other panelists are Chalermchai Mahagitsiri, CEO of 411 Entertainment in Thailand; Tuksaya Teeyanardtanancha, president of T-Group in Thailand; Ong Peng Chu, director of SCAPR in Malaysia; and Mia Johannes, music producer from Indonesia.


Giorgio Moroder, Grammy and Oscar-winning electronic dance music (EDM) pioneer who recently collaborated with popular K-Pop girl group, Sistar, will be among the headline speakers.  There will also be a concert where popular K-Pop groups like U-Kiss, April, and CLC will perform. MU:CON Seoul 2016 will be held at Sangnam Digital Media City, HongDae.  It is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea.
